The tree was here first.
There is an old ghaf tree in the courtyard of our villa on Al Wasl Road. The shaded seats under it are the first to go every morning, and the café is named after it.
We opened in 2019 with one espresso machine and a second-hand roaster in what used to be the garage. We still roast there on Sundays and Wednesdays, buy green coffee from three farms we visit, and bake every pastry in our own kitchen from 5 am.
